" I, Francoise Hannah Phillips was a student of Alexandra Pierra Verri in Kenya in 2010 for just over a year.
The saddest thing for me and my daughters about being relocated from Kenya was having to leave her Pilates studio and classes.

She is a truly inspiring teacher. I have been unable to find an equivalent replacement to her classes in Cape Town despite visiting various studios and classes.I have come to realise the magic of Alexandra's classes had to do with her as a person, her spirituality and many years of experience with yoga. Somehow she managed to combine all of these in her Pilates classes.

Initially I signed up for classes twice a week. Very quickly I discovered that I had become quite addicted to her classes and left each class not only feeling fitter and stronger but mentally balanced and inspired. 
 Soon I was attending classes 6 days a week and even twice on some days.

My favorite class was with a fellow student, a tiny Vietnamese woman whose profession was keeping race horses and polo ponies fit. Once a week the two of us would enjoy an intensive class with her, pushing ourselves to the absolute limit.

I have never been fitter and in better form, physically and mentally than I was during this blissful year of training with Alexandra. She is able to bring the best out of her students, no matter their age, physical limitations or fitness.

" I met Alexandra Maria Pierra in 2010. I was a member of a very exclusive gym and she came to teach us Pilates. The class was amazing. Everyone loved it and it was not just the class, but the energy, love and calm that she put into it. In fact my only reason to stay at the gym became Alexandra Maria Pierra. When Alexandra Maria Pierra eventually stopped teaching at the Serena Gym, she started classes in her lovely studio at her house in the suburbs of Nairobi. I traveled there twice a week for those classes.

Alexandra Maria Pierra is a lovely person who has had some challenges to overcome but never has she been anything but positive, and a wonderful person to be around. When she eventually left Kenya, I missed her and her classes so much and have not found any classes to replace hers, which were more than pure Pilates but included Holistic Energy Healing and a huge amount of commitment and love.
